Great news for those looking to travel to the UK for tourism or work.
It has been announced that Portugal is to be added to the list of countries where self-isolation on return to the UK is not required.
If you are traveling from Portugal (including Madeira, Porto Santo, and the Azores Islands) you will now be exempt from the FCO advice against all non-essential international travel. This is based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.
Preparing your return/ travel journey to the UK?
If you’re returning to the UK from overseas, you will still need to:
· provide your journey and contact details before you travel
You must complete a form online before you arrive in the UK from any country. This includes if you’re travelling from a country or territory where you do not have to self-isolate when you arrive in the UK. You must complete this form even if you’ve already completed a different form to enter another country.
If you do not complete the form before you arrive in the UK, it might take you longer to enter the UK.
You cannot submit the form until 48 hours before you’re due to arrive in the UK.
When you arrive at the UK border you’ll need to show either:
· a printed copy of the document attached to your confirmation email
· the document attached to the confirmation email on your phone
