Job description

Do you have experience in dialysis and are you ready to take the next step into a leadership role?

Our client is a Portuguese healthcare provider with over 30 years of experience in dialysis and renal care. The organisation operates a network of specialised dialysis units, supporting patients throughout different stages of kidney disease—from prevention and assessment to diagnosis and treatment. With multidisciplinary teams, a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient-centred care, and continuous investment in modern technology, they are committed to delivering high-quality renal healthcare.

We are currently recruiting two Head Dialysis Nurses for the following locations:

  • Moita Dialysis Unit, approximately 30 minutes from Lisbon and 1 hour from Setúbal.

  • A dialysis unit in Central Portugal.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a nursing team within a highly specialised clinical environment, where patient safety, organisation, and continuity of care have a direct impact on patients' lives.

In offer

  • Permanent full-time employment contract (40 hours per week) or the possibility of working under a service agreement.

  • Gross monthly salary between €2,000 and €2,500.

  • Additional salary supplements, where applicable.

  • Private health insurance and exclusive employee benefits.

  • The opportunity to join an experienced multidisciplinary team specialising in renal care.

  • Access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Immediate start available.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and supervise the nursing team.

  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, protocols and best practices.

  • Plan, implement and monitor individualised care plans for dialysis patients.

  • Mentor, support and guide nurses and nursing students in their clinical practice.

  • Work collaboratively with physicians and the wider multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Monitor patients' clinical progress and ensure continuity of care.

  • Promote the highest standards of quality, safety and patient care throughout the unit.

What we're looking for

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in dialysis nursing.

  • Strong leadership, organisational and team management skills.

  • A recognised Nursing Specialisation registered with the Portuguese Nursing Council is preferred (the speciality does not need to be in dialysis).

  • Availability to start as soon as possible.

If you have dialysis experience and are looking for an opportunity to lead a team while contributing to the delivery of outstanding patient care, we would love to hear from you.

When applying, please indicate your preferred location: Moita or Central Portugal.
